My name is Santa Mieriiga, and I have over 15 years of experience in bead embroidery. Since childhood, crafting has been my passion — it was only natural that I pursued a career in tailoring and learned leather crafting along the way. But what truly captivated me were beads — they are my creative force and my heart's calling. I've explored many techniques, but in recent years I've fallen especially in love with embroidering brooches.

A special turning point in my creative journey happened six years ago when our family welcomed a corgi named Luna. She became the inspiration for my first animal portrait brooch. Since then, my work has been dedicated to those who wish to honour their beloved pet's life and preserve warm memories of a friend who watches over us from beyond. To date, I have created over 500 brooches, most of which are animal portraits based on clients' pet photographs.

I work daily in my studio at Zelta Rokas, where in addition to creating brooches I regularly organise bead embroidery meetups. I gladly share my experience and let others discover this creative, patient, and joyful art form.
